Fire Risk Assessments

Comprehensive fire risk assessments — including construction phase fire risk assessments — carried out under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and CDM Regulations, identifying hazards, evaluating risks, and providing prioritised recommendations for all building types and construction sites.

Fire risk assessments are a legal requirement under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 for all non-domestic premises and the common areas of residential buildings. JJM Fire Consultants Ltd carries out comprehensive fire risk assessments that identify fire hazards, evaluate the risk to people, and provide clear, prioritised recommendations for reducing risk and improving fire safety management. Our assessments cover means of escape, fire detection and alarm, emergency lighting, fire-fighting equipment, compartmentation, housekeeping, management arrangements, and staff training. We also carry out construction phase fire risk assessments for active construction sites, refurbishment projects, and demolition works — assessing hot works, temporary fire protection, site accommodation, temporary electrics, storage of flammable materials, and site-specific fire safety management arrangements in accordance with the Joint Code of Practice on the Protection from Fire of Construction Sites and Buildings Undergoing Renovation (JCOP) and the CDM Regulations 2015. Construction fire risk assessments are essential for principal contractors, site managers, and project teams to manage fire risk during the build phase when buildings are at their most vulnerable.
