Fire Warden Training: What It Covers and Why It Is Important

Fire wardens — also known as fire marshals — are designated members of staff who have specific responsibilities in the event of a fire. Their role includes assisting with evacuation, checking that their designated area is clear, reporting to the assembly point, and liaising with the fire and rescue service on arrival.

Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the responsible person must ensure that a sufficient number of competent persons are appointed to implement the fire safety measures identified in the fire risk assessment. This includes the appointment and training of fire wardens.
